How to calculate percent grade
- Enter rise and run in the same unit. Rise can be 0. Run must be greater than 0.
- Read percent grade (rise/run × 100), the 1:x ratio, and the angle.
- Do not treat the output as a plat or a set of bearings.
- Roof pitch and math slope between two points are different pages. Nothing is uploaded.

How percent grade and 1:x are computed
Grade is rise over run. Percent multiplies by 100. The ratio row is 1 to run divided by the absolute rise. Angle is arctangent of the grade. A zero rise reports a flat percent.

Not a survey plat
Drainage design, ADA ramps, and recorded grades need field work and codes this page does not load. Estimate only, not code approval.
Use cases
A driveway stick reading, a 2 ft drop in 20 ft of run, or converting percent to an angle. Cross-slope on a road is not a second axis here.
Limits
Run must be greater than 0. Rise uses the number you type, including 0. CZNull does not receive the numbers.
