How tons are computed

ft³ = area × (thicknessIn / 12). tons = (ft³ × density) / 2000. Cubic yards divide ft³ by 27. Density must stay in a plausible lb/ft³ band near hot-mix values.

Hot mix, cold patch, and density

Plant mix tickets list density or yield. Cold patch bags are product-specific and often better counted from bag yield. Paver hardscape counts sit on pavers.
