How gallons are computed

gallons = (area / coverage) × coats. Coats truncates to a whole number from 1 to 5. Coverage is area per gallon for a single coat.

Coal tar, asphalt emulsion, and weather

Product chemistry and local rules differ. Labels list coverage ranges for smooth versus rough pavement. Temperature and humidity change cure time, not this gallon math. Paver sealers are a different product family on paver jobs.
