What this cooking converter does
This list is liquid volume with US customary kitchen units plus milliliters and liters. The cup is the US legal cup, 236.5882365 ml (exactly 231/1000 of a US gallon of 3785.411784 ml). A US teaspoon is 4.92892159375 ml. A US tablespoon is 14.78676478125 ml, three of those teaspoons. A US fluid ounce is 29.5735295625 ml.
UK imperial cups and pints are not on this page. Broader volume including UK gallons lives on the volume converter and on liters to gallons. The unit converter can change dimension.
US cup and spoon factors
Canonical unit here is the milliliter. 1 tbsp = 3 tsp. 1 cup = 8 US fl oz = 16 tbsp. 1 US gal = 16 cups = 3785.411784 ml. Those milliliter constants match the volume engine, so a cup on this page equals a cup on the volume converter.
Volume, not mass
A cup of water is not a cup of flour by weight. Packing, grind, and hydration change grams per cup. This converter never asks for an ingredient, so it will not print grams. Use a kitchen scale for baking mass. Do not treat this cup as the old imperial cup (~284 ml) or a metric 250 ml cup unless you pick milliliters yourself and type 250.
When to convert cooking volume here
Scale a US recipe into milliliters, turn tablespoons into teaspoons, or check how many cups sit in a US gallon of stock. Leave dry goods by weight and UK imperial recipes on other tools.
