What this kW page computes
Kilowatts convert to watts by times 1000. DC current is P / V. Single-phase AC divides by PF. Three-phase divides by the square root of 3 times V times PF. The default 1.2 kW at 120 V DC is 10 A, the same current as 1200 W on the watts to amps page.
Kilowatt, volt, and power factor
A kilowatt is 1000 W. Volts are the RMS line value you type for AC. Power factor is 1 for resistive DC. Apparent power is listed in VA. The sibling form that starts from watts is watts to amps.
