What inches to meters does
This spoke locks length on inches to meters. The 1959 agreement sets 1 in = 25.4 mm = 0.0254 m with no extra rounding in the factor. A 40 inch spec is 1.016 m. Centimeters from the same inch live on inches to cm. Feet from inches live on inches to feet.

m = in × 0.0254. in = m / 0.0254. cm = in × 2.54. ft = in / 12. Swap exchanges From and To. Fractional inches belong as decimals (3/8 in is 0.375).
Meter, centimeter, and survey inch
Engineering drawings in inches still dump into meters for SI bills of materials. The US survey foot is not used. Nautical miles remain on the list for sea distance, not for an inch tape.
When to convert inches to meters here
Move a product width into meters, check a 0.0254 factor, or swap to centimeters. Use height when you have feet and leftover inches as two fields.
